Whoosh just finished this great book! I am sitting here crying :) Angelborn is a fantasy book about Angels, halfangels etc. The main male lead- Caleb, is the child of a female angel and a human male. He has no soul. So in the book he is attempting to find his "soul mate" Geena/Viv so that way she will bind with him.
When these halfangels die - and assuming they came to the human world, and die here, they go to a horrible place called the "wasteland" unless a human willingly binds their soul to them.
In this book, humans, reincarnate again and again and again - until they are allowed in Euphoria where the angels live. So, humans just keep repeating the cycle - until at some point they are allowed to enter "Heaven"?
Caleb had come down in the 1940's and met Viv - and he was Caleb then - and fell in love but before he and Viv die - she doesn't bind to him.
We meet Caleb again in the Wasteland - which is a horrible place from the description - I am unsure if humans go there?, but Caleb escapes it with a friend - who gives him the name and address of Geena - which is Viv reincarnated.
In comes Maia - who when we first meet her - at the age of six, is able to see ghosts of those humans who don't move on - good question - if you don't move on - do you always stay a ghost? Do you never get reincarnated?
Maia is Geena's roommate - who knows what Caleb is - and I don't want to give to much of the book away - sometimes lust isn't love - and love is those willing to die for another.
